Extend or change the conditions of your work permit from inside Canada
For work permit holders in Canada who need more time or need to change their employer, job, location or other conditions. You apply online with IMM 5710 (Application to Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker), ideally at least 30 days before your permit expires. If you apply before it expires, you keep your status (maintained status) and can generally keep working under your current conditions while IRCC decides.
Who it is for: Holders of a valid employer-specific or open work permit who are in Canada.
