Study the guide the test is drawn from.

The citizenship test is drawn entirely from Discover Canada. These notes reorganise it into focused reading sessions, chapter by chapter, with a test at the end of each.

Discover Canada has ten examinable chapters: rights and responsibilities of citizenship, who we are, Canada’s history, modern Canada, how Canadians govern themselves, federal elections, the justice system, Canadian symbols, Canada’s economy and Canada’s regions.

Each chapter is split into short lessons that pull out the facts the test asks about, and ends with a chapter test of questions in the official format. All ten chapters are free, alongside the full practice exam library.

Notes for every chapter, with what the test asks from it and a set of practice questions, are also published openly in our citizenship study guides and can be read without an account.

Start with a free Canadian citizenship practice test or practice test 2: twenty questions each, answers explained, no account needed.
